Michelle Bachelet has been the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights since 2018. In 2006-2010 and 2014-2018, Bachele was President of the Republic of Chile, Minister of Health in 2000-2002 and Minister of Defense in 2002-2004. Prior to that, Bachelet worked in a number of international organizations, all dealing with human rights issues.
