Guilherme Canela de Souza Godoi is the chief of the section of Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists at UNESCO. Prior to this, he held the position of Communication and Information Regional Adviser for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNESCO Montevideo Office. He has also written books on the connections between freedom of expression, journalism and human rights.
